James Chwalyk

James graduated Magna cum Laude from Montclair State University with a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Theory/Composition and Music Education with a concentration in Instrumental Music. He studied composition with Daniel Beliavsky (NYU) and Patrick J. Burns (MSU/NJCU/Bandworks Publications) before earning a minor in Harry Partch Microtonal Music while working with Dean Drummond and the Harry Partch Ensemble at Montclair State University. James has both directed and performed in various theaters and venues in northern New Jersey and is currently an instrumental music teacher in the Lyndhurst, NJ public school system.
